based in london, artist supermundane a.k.a. rob lowe  trained as a graphic designer and has built an impressive career, art directing magazines and making illustrations for a slew of leading companies from across the planet. in a new show, entitled signs & symbols and the artist's most elaborate to date, he presents a new series of screen prints called ancient lights, using four rectangles to hint at windows with simple lines used to create illusions of indoor and outdoor space. held at the book club and opening there on thu - oct 22, the showcase also features a site-specific nine meter mural, using the artist's visual language and working with the interior architecture to redefine the space. also on display are torn fragments of work, all rearranged in a large scale painting inspired by trips to the british museum and pieces of pottery displayed out of their original context [on through nov 23]. location: the book club, 100-106 leonard street [shoreditch].
