legendary rock guitarist jimi hendrix who passed away over four decades ago is back by way of a pop-up store that open's today [4pm-6pm] in london's soho neighbourhood. the temporary retail space celebrates the artist's new post-humous release of people, hell and angels, a 12-track album produced by hendrix's former sound manager eddie kramer. the album features tracks that were recorded to serve as a follow-up to the electric ladyland album from 1968. the store will sell a limited collection of hendrix merchandise and features fender's plug + play demo stations, in addition to hosting a photography exhibition by gered mankowitz [open through apr 12]. mind you, janie hendrix, jimi’s sister and c.e.o. of experience hendrix makes a special appearance at the store opening, signing copies of the new book jimi hendrix: the ultimate lyric book, and gered mankowitz will drop by on sat - apr 6 to chat about working with the guitarist and to sign prints of his work which have been exclusively printed for the pop-up. location: 8 ganton street [soho].
