we already talked about boxpark mall in a previous post. well, the planet's first pop-up mall - as it proudly proclaims - finally opened last week. a collab initiative of brand guru roger wade and real estate developers hammerson and ballymore, boxpark mall brings together an interesting selection of more than 60 international brands and smaller ones from the u.k. which all have innovation, talent and attitude in their dna, and houses them in stripped and refitted shipping containers to create unique, low-cost and also low-risk 'box shops'. the result is the planet's first pop-up mall [named as such because its building blocks are movable and thus great added value in terms of marketing] that offers a shopping environment that's totally in sync with street fashion's raw edge. the current shop list includes new concept stores by nike, marimekko, oakley, lacoste live!, onetruesaxon and even amnesty international. these are complemented by a matching range of food + beverage outlets such as bukowski, cybercandy and pieminister. don't miss when in town! location: corner shoreditch high street + bethnal green road [shoreditch].
