pow! wow! hawai'i is an annual creative gathering in honolulu of urban artists from around the planet. its main objective is to engage with the community in the process of creating art, and in this year's edition it's the streets of the city's kaka'ako area. this fourth edition once again brings cool art shows, lectures, screenings, and of course parties, all related to urban culture and with the participation of some of today's coolest creatives, such as reach, dj packo, cyrcle, nicholas kaleikini and melissa findley. pow! wow! hawaii officially kicks off on sat - feb 8 [6pm-10pm] with an art exhibition held at the honolulu museum of art school, and it explores the new contemporary art movement through the eyes of andrew hosner of thinkspace gallery in los angeles. we'd also like to mention the creation of outdoor murals during several days and at many locations, as the symbolic core of pow! wow! hawaii's urban art-inspired program. click here to view the full program. opening exhibition location: 1111 victoria street [downtown].
