hong kong: useful or useless

paris-based artist christian astuguevieille's art installation useful or useless launched last week at comme des garçons under the ground [on until may 7]. heavily inspired by the 1960s arte povera movement, the work on display features cooking utensils from across the planet and from different eras, all hand-sewn in different textiles and then painted grey as to give them a new dimension. these are juxtaposed with a series of brightly coloured jewellery pieces made from eclectic materials such as rope and paper, and also leather, rhinestones and metal. shoppers can purchase all of christian astuguevieille's jewellery pieces on display. location: 10 ice house street, shop b2 [central]. © i.t
