hong kong: mcsoundscape

in hong kong, many spaces have been commodified and mcdonalds restaurants are exemplary for being 'non-places': the interior design, services and food are exactly the same as all of its other restaurants across the planet. the mcsoundscape exhibition presents a soundscape work developed by artists brian kwok and terrie cheung. this research-based project intends to provide awareness and understanding of how the commonly practiced transformation and appropriation of space could re-articulate the identities of the space or even further govern the changing spatial identities, characteristics and meanings of the city. opening party is sat - mar 14 [3pm] and free mcdonals food will be served. location: videotage, cattle depot artist village, 63 ma tau kok road [kowloon].
