there's high demand for aesop products across the planet, but it seems particularly so in hong kong. the australian cosmetics brand is already well-represented but it has recently added a new sleek corner inside the beauty avenue store at langham place mall. designed by the aesop's very own architectural team, the setting references the long history of local craftsman working in this part of town and includes primary materials such as dark walnut timber, hand-brushed brass and concrete. two linear islands sit parallel in front of a curved wall dipped in a light blue shade, one featuring an elongated cement concrete sink and the other a product display platform. although compact in size, the new aesop corner boasts a novelty. the design of the display countertop explores a new way to showcase the brand’s formulations: 30 sheets of hand-brushed brass are folded at right angles, where 370 bottles hold a slanting pose and create a more dynamic presentation. the new aesop corner carries the brand's full range of body, skin and hair care products. location: langham place, 8 argyle street [mongkok].
