great design abides by sheer simplicity, and the new range of bags by dutch designer alei verspoor fully embodies this principle, along with an ingenious weaving technique. after graduating from both the artez institute of the arts in the sleepy dutch town of arnhem and london's prestigious royal college of art, verspoor initiated a number of interesting design projects, including pack by alei verspoor, a modular bag system based on the notion of design for disassembly and the ability to modify the design of each bag up to a certain degree. each bag is hand-made and constructed through simple an ingeniously simple weaving technique that doesn't require many additional elements, but does allow for easy customization. as said, it's a modular system and various separate elements can be purchased to tweak the design any way you want. the collection comprises of a handy back pack and tote bag, but now also features a weekend bag and laptop sleeve. the pack by alei verspoor bags are available at one good deed today [london] and isetan [tokyo], but if you reside elsewhere, these trophies can also be purchased online.
