thanks to nicola formichetti's new creative control, diesel is slowly regaining an edge that's relevant to young consumers. the brand's new s/s 2014 campaign reflects a rebellious style that somehow also shows an understanding of today's eclectic youth culture. the campaign builds on formichetti's highly symbolic #dieselreboot campaign of last season, and which invited creatives across the planet were invited to upload imagery that they deemed representative of diesel's new identity. the new campaign features a motley crew of artists, musicians, models, writers and other, often self-made and exclusively internet-based, creatives in the brand's latest collection. obviously, they're picked for their authentic looks, but even more so for the unorthodox and independent way they carry themselves and make choices, and that's captured quite brilliantly. the slogan 'we are connected' is very much diesel celebrating individuality and personal style.
