we can't have enough cool shades, and cassius' second release of the tange couldn't be better timed. as its name suggests, the model incorporates signature elements of japanese starchitect kenzo tange's design for the 1964 tokyo olympics. the tange is about an aviator-style frame bridged by a cable and with a sturdy pre-fab steel foundation. the colours reference both timber and concrete while the acetate frame mimics the traditional and the modern, both so manifest in the architect's design of the tokyo metropolitan government building. the cassius tange comes in black, graphite and walnut with brown mono, dark green mono or clear rx lenses, and is released in a limited-edition of only 300 in each frame colour. for the moment these trophy shades are only available online. © cassius - cassius tange #001
