for its a/w 2012 collection japanese brand bedwin & the heartbreakers expands its americana style vocabulary by focusing on one of the most legendary rock bands ever to come out of new york city: the velvet underground. the band's gloomy 1960s urban vision and the peculiar, monotone dress sense [read: lots of black] of its members influenced the collection's aesthetics. different types of fabrics were picked to create multiple layers and express a multidimensional and more contemporary vision of black. the used graphics have been inspired by the visual heritage of andy warhol. shown here is a mix of six men's and women's styles that we particularly like. bedwin & the heartbreakers' a/w 2012 collection is available at select stores across the planet, including union [los angeles], odin [new york], four [amsterdam], i.t [hong kong] and the contemporary fix [tokyo].
