© grupo habita - endémico's fabulous location comes with stunning views
it's as remote as it is spectacular, perched on a rugged mountain top and overlooking expansive vineyards below. we're talking yet another opening by grupo habita, this time in one of mexico's lesser known regions and only a one-and-a-half hour drive from san diego. called endémico, it occupies 100 hectares and forms a part of encuentro guadalupe, an agricultural development near the coastal town of ensenada and in a region with a distinct scenery of its own. the endémico features 20 luxury eco-friendly cabins, designed in collab with tijuana-based design practice gracia studio. the cabins are dotted along a mountain slope, and are made from wood and corten steel as these materials weather well overtime and allow them to blend into the landscape. constructed with the environment in mind, they're also raised off the ground by stilts to minimize the impact. the interior design is just the way we like it: minimalist and understated. it includes all modern comforts you require, such as a kingsize bed, a private terrace with stunning views, and if you really must, there's wireless internet access to keep in touch with the outside world. also perfectly concealed is a communal pool and onsite restaurant + bar, which all have stunning views out over the valley. as you can imagine, we suddenly find rural isolation a lot more appealing. location: carretera tecate-ensenada km 75 [valle de guadalupe].
