dubai: the state

earlier this year dubai's traffic design studio + store morphed into a full-fledged contemporary art space. as a result it relocated to a larger venue in the area: gallery I. the new gallery's inaugural exhibition, dubbed the state, opens wed - nov 10 [8pm]. the show is inspired by the post-9/11 era and aims to reflect the current zeitgeist. on display are 26 works by various international artists from traffic curator rami farook's private collection. simultaneously an exhibition of new works by iranian artist hesam rahmanian is held here. the opening party features a special live gig by the narcicyst. location: 179 umm suqeim road [al quoz 4]. © traffic / tarek al-ghoussein - self-portrait 2 - looking at palestine [2003]
