established in 2008, time to design is an international danish design award that aims to promote promising young designers who are at the very beginning of their career. next to a three-month residency at the danish art workshops, the winner receives dkk 50,000 prize money, and last but not least an exhibition at the very cool normann flagship store in copenhagen. this year's winner is hamburg-based designer milia seyppel whose exhibition petits-frères displays a series of lamp designs. seyppel elaborately tested possibilities and limitations of materials in regard to the reproduction of shapes and forms she envisioned to make. the result is a group of lamps made from metal and glass that very much reflect the designer's knowhow and self-imposed artistic challenges [on through dec 8]. location: østerbrogade 70 [østerbro].
