designer henrik vibskov is a jack of all trades who regularly explores other fields than his main shtick, fashion. bearing witness to his adventurous mind is a new social hangout that he recently opened in papirøen, a harbourside plot in the christianshavn area of his hometown copenhagen. this specific place is home to a handful of industrial buildings and in recent years it has seen an influx of small creative companies. the danish fashion designer has followed suit, and after opening his office and workshop there, he has launched den plettede gris or the spotted pig. it's a cozy café located in a cutesy brick structure, and although small, the place features the typical hallmarks of henrik vibskov's quirky design aesthetic. while a large part of the interior has been retained, the upper half of the walls are now adorned with a hybrid ornamentation that includes protruding wooden sticks, black electric wires and bands of various colours. a series of matching lamps dangle over the counter. den plettede gris has a concise menu that lists coffee, soft drinks, beer, wine and ice cream for the kids. location: trangravsvej 5 [christianshavn].
