berlin-based actor oliver korittke and his pals oliver kircher and niklas beckert are kindred spirits when it comes to sneakers and toys. korittke owns a sizeable collection that has catapulted him to fame in german sneaker circles. taking their shared obsession to the next level, the trio have now teamed up to launch generation 13, an urban arts museum of sorts - the very first of its kind in europe - that'll certainly appeal to today's pop culture generation. the museum occupies a space of 600 sqm. [6,458 sq.ft.] at hamburger hof, home to a cluster of creative companies in the mitte district, and offers visitors a designated route along select items from the 1960s to the 1980s. the venue aims to present exhibitions that rotate every six months, featuring items from its vast archive of over 2,000 sneakers, 5,000 action figures, comic books and other related objects. additionally, generation 13 also features a café with a matching vibe. a minimalist and whitewashed space, it's spiced up with select sneakers and toys from the collection. the menu lists tasty and freshly made salads and savory bites. location: grosse hamburger strasse 17 [mitte].
