© i.t / i.t beijing market is the new pinnacle of hipster shopping in the chinese capital well, it's official. last week's much-publicized opening of i.t beijing market kept beijing buzzing in anticipation for months, and proves that china is the undisputed new frontier of edgy retail. a collab venture of hong kong-based retail giant i.t and comme des garçons, this is quite a sizeable multi-level store, housed in a new modern structure in the city's hipster area of sanlitun. modeled after london's dover street market, the flagship has also adopted rei kawakubo's beautiful chaos philosophy, inspiring shoppers with a unique retail environment in which art and fashion playfully interact. and speaking of fashion, all 15 comme des garçons lines will be available at the store, in addition to a string of highly sought-after brands that have been given special corners, including rick owens, dior homme, thom browne, martin margiela and visvim. needless to say that the opening party was attended by a slew of overexcited celebs, artists and hipsters. location: sanlitun village, sanlitun lu, area n5, building 1-4 [sanlitun].
