following a much-publicized showcase last year at the musée des arts décoratifs in paris, the dries van noten. inspirations exhibition is now in full swing at momu in antwerp. it's the first time that the designs of dries van noten, a member of the renowned antwerp six which put belgian fashion on the global map, are featured in an exhibition. but this not just another exhibition, no sir. exploring the designer's artistic focus and abundance of references, and also his creative process, the show combines fashion design with the world of decorative and fine arts in order to illustrate the van noten’s distinctive techniques and stylistic vocabulary. on display are beautifully arranged settings which juxtaposes pieces from van noten's many collections within referential contexts which very often contain original art works by artists yves klein, damien hirst, cecily brown, hubert duprat, pablo picasso and mark rothko [on through jul 19]. location: momu, nationalestraat 26 [centrum].
