earlier this year, anglo-japanese fashion brand passarella death squad created 16 exclusive artworks for iconic american men's magazine penthouse. inspired by the magazine's vast archive, each image has been photographed, cropped and tweaked by danny passarella himself. the designer wanted to draw viewers to the human being in the picture, and for the treatments to provoke a range of emotions beyond lust alone. the series, sized 30 x 40 cm, printed onto kodak c-type metallic paper, and captured in exuberant colours, are currently on display in an exhibition entitled videodrome at streetwear store concrete in amsterdam. a number of the designs have been printed onto t-shirts that will be sold at the exhibition, and for the occasion, passarella death squad have also teamed up with techno producer perc to produce a soundtrack to accompany the exhibition [on through oct 31]. location: spuistraat 250 [centrum].
