amsterdam: sublime porte

as a protagonist of contemporary turkish culture in the netherlands, the 7 hills foundation launched the amsterdam turkish film festival and a theater piece last year. this spring it leaps forward, inaugurating its very own contemporary arts space in downtown amsterdam, the very first to presents artists from turkey, europe and the turkish diaspora. the art gallery kicks off tue - apr 8 [7pm] with sublime porte, a group exhibition featuring works that are a reflection on the ongoing discussions on turkish identity, and created by artists burcu öncel, mustafa bilge satkın, ejderkan tastekin and can sungu. location: nieuwe nieuwstraat 27c [centrum]. © 7 hills foundation / ejderkan tastekin - top storey - mixed media installation [2010]
