amman: open city - refuge urbanism

the elaborate open city - refuge urbanism exhibition recently opened at the jordanian national gallery of fine arts. originally part of the 2009 edition of the international architecture biennale rotterdam, the showcase consists of several themed publications in newspaper format that were specifically created for this show by various urban experts. the photos and texts present the evolution and lifestyle of the booming cities of istanbul, beirut, amman and cairo. additonally, photographer bas princen's five city portfolio, featuring amazing urban shots of the aforementioned cities plus dubai, is put on display [on until aug 18]. location: husni fariz street [jabal al lewaibdeh].
